Installing Clone Hero
Apple restricts sideloading apps outside the App Store. The steps below use free, community-supported tools to work around these limitations, with no PC or jailbreak required.
Want the latest PTB build without sideloading? Starting from v1.1.0.5977-PTB, Clone Hero has an official TestFlight beta. Join the beta on TestFlight →
1
Install SideStore, a PC-free sideloading tool. Follow its built-in setup guide to get everything configured before continuing.
2
Because Apple limits how many sideloaded apps can be active at once, install LiveContainer. It lets you run additional IPA files inside a single sideloaded slot, making it much easier to manage Clone Hero and future installs.
3
Download the latest Clone Hero IPA, then install it through LiveContainer rather than SideStore directly to preserve your sideloading slots for other apps.
4
Launch Clone Hero and create a profile. This ensures all required game data folders are generated on first run.
5
Close Clone Hero, reopen LiveContainer, then tap and hold Clone Hero and select Open Data Folder.
6
Note the folder name shown. This is your Clone Hero data directory where all downloaded songs, custom backgrounds, highways, and profiles belong.
Downloading Songs
This process requires a PC. Blip: File Transfer is recommended for wirelessly moving files from your PC to your iPhone.
1
Install Blip: File Transfer on both your iPhone and PC. Sign into the same account on both devices.
2
Download your desired song(s) on your PC.
3
Right-click the song's .zip file and select Send with Blip, then select your iPhone from the list.
4
On your iPhone, the file will be auto-accepted. Tap it and select Open with Files. Then tap and hold the file and press Move.
5
Navigate to LiveContainer → Data → Application → [your Clone Hero folder] (from step 6 of Installing Clone Hero) → Documents → Songs, then tap Move to confirm.
6
In the Songs folder, tap the zipped file to unzip it, then delete the original .zip.
7
Close the Files app, reopen Clone Hero, and rescan your library. Your new song should appear.

This process is nearly identical to downloading songs. A PC and Blip: File Transfer are recommended.

3
Right-click the .zip and select Send with Blip, then select your iPhone.
